Automatic Potentiometric Titrators

Q
What is an appropriate electrolyte for non-aqueous titration with acetic acid as the solvent?
A

Either of the following is recommended as the electrolyte.
1) 1 mol/L lithium chloride solution (acetic acid solvent)
2) Saturated sodium perchlorate solution (acetic acid solution)
With this titration, contamination with water must be avoided.
If contaminated with water, the inflection point in the titration curve tends to become unclear.
Electrolyte (1) is available from KEM.
Electrolyte (2) must be prepared by the customer.
When preparing this electrolyte, dissolve anhydrous sodium perchlorate in acetic acid, and then use the supernatant fluid.

Product Name: 250 mL (1 mol/L lithium chloride solution with acetic acid solvent) electrolyte for electrodes
Part No.: 61-00081-00
